We come to you
Are part-worn tyres any good?
Bought properly, yes. Bought badly, they are a false economy.
- Inspected inside and out before fitting
- Balanced exactly like a new tyre
- Stock changes daily — ring ahead with your size
- We will say when new is the better buy

Part-worn tyres have a mixed reputation, and some of it is earned. Plenty are sold badly — no inspection, no idea of the history, and tread that is barely above the limit before the customer has driven home.
Done properly they are a genuinely useful option. A tyre that has done a few thousand miles on somebody else's car and been taken off because the other three needed changing is a perfectly good tyre, and it costs a fraction of new. When money is tight and something has to go on the car today, that beats running on something dangerous by a distance.
What to insist on: a part-worn should have a decent amount of tread left, not a whisker over the limit. It should be inspected inside and out before it goes anywhere near your car. It should have no sidewall damage, no old improper repairs and no perishing. And it should be balanced when it is fitted, exactly like a new tyre.
That is how we sell them. Anything we would not put on our own vehicle does not get sold, which is why our part-worn stock changes constantly and why it is worth ringing ahead with your size rather than turning up hopeful.
When is new the better buy? High mileage, mostly motorway, or you plan to keep the car a while — new almost always works out cheaper per mile. For a runabout or a short-term fix, a good part-worn is sound sense. Tell us what you do with the car and we will tell you what we would fit.
Questions we get asked
It varies by tyre, which is why it is worth asking about the specific one we would fit. We will tell you the depth before it goes on.
Tyres on the same axle should match. Across the car it is less critical, but talk to us with the vehicle in front of us and we will give you a straight answer.
Yes, but ring first with your size so we know we have got one before we set off.
